Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of L2Trivia, formerly L2Repository, and its quizzes, player features, server directory, advertising tools, token store, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). L2Trivia is operated from Hungary.

By using the Service, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organization or server project, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. Mandatory rights under applicable law, including consumer rights, are not excluded or limited by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If the law where you live requires a higher age or parental authorization to enter this agreement or make a purchase, that requirement applies. You must have legal capacity to use paid features.

2. Accounts and security

• Provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.
• Keep your password and connected Google or Telegram account secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.
• Do not sell, rent, transfer, or share an account to evade restrictions or misrepresent identity.
• Notify us promptly through the contact form if you suspect unauthorized access.

Google and Telegram login are optional third-party services governed by their own terms. Disconnecting a provider does not automatically delete your L2Trivia account.

3. Quizzes, scores, and player features

Quiz material is provided for entertainment and community knowledge. Sources, game versions, translations, and mechanics may be incomplete, disputed, or changed. Scores, points, ranks, badges, cooldowns, and eligibility rules are Service features rather than property or guarantees of status.

We may correct quiz content or scoring errors and, where reasonably necessary for fairness, invalidate or recalculate affected results. We will avoid removing valid results when an in-place correction is possible.

4. Server directory and ownership claims

The directory contains information supplied by users, server operators, and public sources. A listing is informational and is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee that a server is safe, lawful, online, accurately described, or affiliated with its claimed operator.

If you submit or claim a server, you represent that you are authorized to do so and that all submitted information is accurate, lawful, and not misleading. You must keep material details current and may not impersonate another operator, manipulate rankings, submit malicious links, or claim a server you do not control. We may request reasonable proof of ownership and may reject, correct, unclaim, suspend, or remove listings.

5. User content

"User Content" includes server details, advertisements, images, links, descriptions, messages, and other material you submit. You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant L2Trivia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, translate where requested, display, and distribute it solely as needed to operate, promote, secure, and improve the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for backups, legal retention, and content already reasonably incorporated into shared or historical records.

You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit User Content and that it does not infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights. Do not submit unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, threatening, hateful, sexually exploitative, malware-containing, or otherwise harmful content.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

• break applicable law or encourage unlawful activity;
• harass others, impersonate a person or organization, or submit fraudulent information;
• cheat, automate quiz submissions, manipulate votes, auctions, ranks, referrals, rewards, or account balances;
• probe, disrupt, overload, bypass, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or another account;
• upload malware, scrape at a harmful rate, circumvent technical limits, or use automated access contrary to published instructions;
• use the Service to send spam, phishing, deceptive promotions, or illegal advertising; or
• copy or commercially exploit substantial parts of the Service except as permitted by law or written authorization.

7. Advertising campaigns and daily auctions

Advertising campaigns require review and are not guaranteed approval, placement, impressions, clicks, or results. Creatives and destinations must be lawful, accurate, safe, and suitable for the L2Trivia audience. We may reject, pause, or remove a campaign for policy, technical, legal, or security reasons and will provide a reason where appropriate.

Eligible placements are allocated by daily auction at 00:00 Europe/Budapest time. The highest maximum daily bid wins; ties are resolved by earlier campaign creation time and then lower campaign ID. The winner is charged the lesser of its maximum bid or the next eligible bid plus the slot increment. If there is no runner-up, the slot's minimum daily bid is charged. A campaign may be skipped if its token balance or budget cannot cover the charge at processing time.

Your maximum bid is the most you authorize L2Trivia to deduct for that campaign on one auction day. Daily and total budgets are limits, not promises that the entire budget will be spent. Auction results produced by the Service's records control unless a demonstrated processing error occurred.

8. Tokens

L2Trivia tokens are closed-loop Service credits. They are not money, cryptocurrency, stored value, an investment, or transferable property; have no cash value outside L2Trivia; and may be used only for features we make available, currently including eligible advertising spend.

Purchased tokens are credited after payment confirmation. Promotional or bonus tokens may be subject to additional conditions. Tokens may not be sold, transferred, exchanged, or used to facilitate fraud. We may correct balances affected by duplicate credits, reversed payments, abuse, or technical error and will keep transaction records supporting such corrections.

9. Prices, payments, withdrawal, and refunds

Prices and included token amounts are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal under the provider's terms. You authorize the selected provider and L2Trivia to process the displayed charge. You are responsible for applicable taxes unless the checkout states they are included.

If you are an EEA consumer, you may have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content or a digital service supplied immediately, that right may end after you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge the resulting loss of the withdrawal right, where applicable law permits. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have for non-conforming, unavailable, or incorrectly supplied digital services.

Contact us promptly about duplicate, unauthorized, failed, or incorrect charges. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method where practicable, and corresponding unused tokens may be removed. Tokens already spent in a completed advertising auction normally cannot be restored unless the charge resulted from a verified Service error or applicable law requires a remedy. Chargebacks made without a valid basis may result in suspension while the dispute is investigated.

10. Moderation, suspension, and termination

We may investigate reported or detected violations and take proportionate action, including warning, limiting features, rejecting content, pausing campaigns, correcting balances, suspending, or terminating accounts. Immediate action may be taken where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, third parties, or legal compliance.

Where appropriate, we will explain a moderation decision and provide a reasonable way to contest it through our contact channel. We may preserve records needed for appeals, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or disputes. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion subject to the Privacy Policy and legal retention duties.

11. Intellectual property and game affiliation

The L2Trivia software, design, original text, branding, and arrangement are owned by or licensed to L2Trivia and protected by applicable law. These Terms grant a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.

Lineage II and related names, artwork, characters, and marks belong to their respective owners. L2Trivia is an independent fan and community service and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with NCSOFT unless expressly stated. References are used descriptively. Third-party material remains subject to its owner's rights.

12. Copyright and rights complaints

If you believe content infringes your rights, contact [email protected] with your identity and contact details, the protected work or right, the exact content and location, the basis of your claim, and a statement that the information is accurate and submitted in good faith. We may remove or restrict content while reviewing a sufficiently detailed complaint and may ask the uploader for a response.

13. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to private game servers, advertiser sites, Google, Telegram, Stripe, PayPal, and other third parties. Their products, content, security, availability, and conduct are outside our control. Use of third-party services is governed by their terms. A listing, advertisement, or link does not itself constitute endorsement.

14. Service availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, legal requirements, or technical changes may affect features. We may change or discontinue features for a legitimate reason. If a change materially affects a paid, unconsumed entitlement, we will provide any notice or remedy required by law.

15. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, free portions of the Service are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party server listings, advertisements, linked sites, game information, translations, or user content. You should independently evaluate third-party servers, downloads, purchases, and links.

These disclaimers do not exclude statutory guarantees, remedies for non-conforming digital services, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, violation of mandatory consumer rights, or any liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit.

Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, L2Trivia is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, reputation, opportunity, or data arising from free use of the Service or from third-party services. For claims concerning a paid Service, our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the affected Service during the preceding 12 months or the minimum amount required by law. This limitation applies only where fair and legally enforceable in your circumstances.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Hungarian law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections under the law of their habitual residence. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Consumers may bring proceedings in any court available under mandatory consumer law. Nothing here requires binding arbitration or prevents access to a competent court or consumer-protection authority.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for legal, security, technical, or Service changes. The effective date appears at the top. We will provide reasonable advance notice of material changes where practicable or legally required. Changes do not retroactively reduce rights already earned in a completed purchase. If you do not accept revised Terms, you should stop using the Service before they take effect.

19. General provisions

If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may transfer these Terms as part of a legitimate reorganization or transfer of the Service, provided this does not reduce mandatory consumer rights. You may not transfer your account or obligations without our consent.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, information shown at checkout, and any feature-specific terms presented to you form the agreement concerning the Service. In a conflict, mandatory law controls, followed by feature-specific purchase terms, these Terms, and then general informational pages.
